Some Songs of Encouragement

These are songs that I have written in order to encourage myself or others. PLEASE remember that these songs are copyrighted to me. (I would like to do a MIDI or MP3 version of these songs, but I can't, for two reasons. First, I don't know how, and second, half of these songs do not have music for them yet.)

In my church there is a woman named Dell. She and her husband Roy recently lost their only son, 23 year old named Joey who had suffered from cystic fibrosis all his life, and was an almost total invalid. By all accounts, he was a great young man, full of love for the Lord, and who actually wrote a book on the history of this area. After he died, Dell decided that helping invalids was all she knew how to do, and so she got a job helping other handicapped people. Dell has an incredible faith. To hear her pray in church is a blessing every time. Here is a woman whose life has been shattered, but her faith remains strong. She is a great example of what it means to trust in Christ. I personally can’t come near the kind of faith she has. I wrote this song as a tribute to her and her husband. It is not the best one I have done, but it is from the heart.

I Need Your Faith, by Ken Sander
dedicated to Roy and Dell

verse 1:
I cannot know your heartache, I cannot feel your pain;
But I hear the way you pray and praise Him just the same.
As you walk, you do not stumble; as you cry, you do not fall;
Through the heartache you stand firmly and depend on Him for all.

Chorus:
I want to walk with Jesus through my pain, as you do.
I want the faith that you have shown,
And to be stronger, just like you.
I need your faith.

Verse 2:
Your life is an example of what it means to know
that pain and sorrow, grief and loss can help our faith to grow.
For though your heart is broken, you do not blame it on the Lord;
You demonstrate a solid faith and commitment to the Word.

Chorus:
I want to walk with Jesus through my pain, as you do.
I want the faith that you have shown,
And to be stronger, just like you.
I need your faith.

Bridge:
I hope I never have to know the sadness that you feel,
But if I do, I want to show my faith in God is real.

Chorus:
I want to walk with Jesus through my pain, as you do.
I want the faith that you have shown,
And to be stronger, just like you.
I need your faith.

I need your faith.

I Need You To Know
by Ken Sander
(copyright 1999)

Verse 1:
My child, I feel your pain, I know you've been crying.
You have a broken heart, and just want to die.
But I want you to know that I'm always here, right by your side,
I'll hold you in my love when you start to cry.

Chorus:
I need you to know I'll always be with you;
I need you to know I'll always be near.
I need you to know that I'll always hold you in my arms,
I need you to know that I'm always here.

Verse 2:
You think you're on your own, you think no one loves you;
There's darkness all around; it won't go away.
But you are not alone, you'll have me inside your heart;
I'll give to you my strength, and heal you today.

Chorus:
I need you to know I'll always be with you;
I need you to know I'll always be near.
I need you to know that I'll always hold you in my arms,
I need you to know that I'm always here.

Bridge:
No matter what's in store, you don't have to face it on your own.
There's someone on your side, and you're not alone.

Altered Chorus:
I need you to know that Jesus is with you;
I need you to know that Jesus is near.
I need you to know that Jesus will hold you in my arms,
I need you to know that Jesus is here.

I Know I Couldn't?t Make It Without You
by Ken Sander
(copyright 1999)

Verse 1:
You may not ever know it, ‘cause I know I seldom show it,
The good days, when they come, are all too few.
I’m all torn up inside, and I can’t find a place to hide;
I know I couldn't?t make it without you.

Chorus:
I know I couldn't?t make it without you,
There’s hope inside because of all you do;
I have no doubt that what I say is true:
I know I couldn't?t make it without you.

Verse 2:
My life’s been torn apart, and I don’t know where to start
To find myself , a hope that is brand new.
You show me where to find it, and help me not to mind it,
I know I couldn't?t make it without you.

Chorus:
I know I couldn't?t make it without you,
There’s hope inside because of all you do;
I have no doubt that what I say is true:
I know I couldn't?t make it without you.

Bridge:
In all the tears and sorrow, you help me see there’ll be tomorrow,
And I can face it just because you’re right here, too.
Even when I want to cry, to just lay down and die,
I know I couldn't?t make it without you.
Without you... (modulation)

Chorus:
I know I couldn't?t make it without you,
There’s hope inside because of all you do;
I have no doubt that what I say is true:
I know I couldn't?t make it without you.

Tag:
Yes, I know I wouldn't?t make it,
My heart, it just can’t take it,
I know I wouldn't?t make it without you.
I know I couldn't?t make it without you.

by Ken Sander

There are times when things get so bad,
And you think you have no one to turn to;
Understand that I still love you,
And please know that I’m always here for you.

I am always here for you,
No matter what the world throws at you;
Anytime and anywhere, I don’t care,
I’m always here for you.

I don’t care what problems arise,
I don’t care what bad things have happened.
You are still so real in my heart;
so don’t forget that I’m always here for you.

Chorus:
I am always here for you,
No matter what the world throws at you;
Anytime and anywhere, I don’t care,
I’m always here for you.

And He’s there to help you deal with them.

He is always here for you,
And He gave His very life for you;
